you must stick up for yourself son / nevermind what anybody else donein this live action remake of an underrated disney classic, ty burrell plays george goolsby, a well-intentioned but embarrassing single father to max goolsby, played by joe gilgun, an insecure and lovestruck teenager obsessed with being cool. in an effort to get closer to his son, george plans an impromptu summer road trip for the pair, disrupting max’s own plots to woo his crush roxanne. max, resentful of being dragged away, tries everything to get away just as desperately as george holds on. whether or not the two make it to their detination remains up in the air as they run into a slew of unexpected things on their journey, making it a memorable one indeed.
